The press service of Glavgosexpertiza reported that the bridge over the Kovda River on the section of the A-123 Chekshino – Totma – Kotlas – Kuratovo highway will be overhauled in the Vologda region. It is along this road that the tourist route to Veliky Ustyug passes to the residence of Santa Claus.

To date, the technical condition of the bridge is considered unsatisfactory. Its repair will take place without changing the longitudinal scheme of the structure. The new superstructures will be installed on new supports using the existing foundation reinforced with additional piles.

The report notes that for the period of construction, a temporary bypass road is planned to be installed on the A-123 section under repair.
