As part of the tourism recovery plan, the government of the province of Liege, one of the ten provinces of Belgium, and its Tourism Federation offer locals to visit tourist attractions for free. Residents of the province, alone or with their families, will now be able to take advantage of discounts and special offers that local tourism companies present, rtbf.fr. reports.

Karl Maréchal of the Liege Province Tourism Federation said: “When we talk about tourist sites, we aim at the tourism offer in the broad sense of the term. These are attractions of course, but they also include accommodation, catering or supply from local producers.

“To date, we have received more than one hundred offers from suppliers of tourism services. We can say that tourism professionals have been hit hard in recent months, but they realized that the goal is to create a new flow of local visitors,” he added.

A list of attractions and service providers who are ready to provide discounts to local residents will be available online on the province's website from July 1.

The list will be constantly expanded.
