The legendary Battle of the Neva will be recreated for the first time with all the details and with the participation of 150 "knights" in the Crimea at the Tavrida.ART festival, which will be held from September 8 to 12 in Kapsel Bay near Sudak. Reconstructors from 16 regions of Russia will also arrange a knightly tournament, in which about 150 participants of the All-Russian festival of historical reconstruction "Alexander Nevsky» will fight. It is dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the prince.
“This year, for the first time, participants of the reenactment movement will join the festival. We expect the historic immersive show to enrich the festival program and allow all participants and spectators to look into the depths of the centuries,” said Sergei Pershin, head of the Tavrida Art cluster.
In the cultural and historical quarter of the Tavrida.ART festival, two military camps of the mid-13th century model will be erected - Old Russian and European (Swedish). It will host a classic equestrian military tournament according to the rules of European knighthood of the 13th century and a foot tournament with swords.
In the art zone "Culture and Life of Ancient Rus", craft workshops, a school of historical cuisine will open, as well as an ethno-folk festival of modern ethnic music with authentic folklore of different peoples. During the festival, three oar boats will cruise along the Kapsel Bay - replicas of Russian marching ships of the 13th century model. A scientific discussion-marathon "Historians against myths" is planned. The main activities and main sites of the cultural and historical quarter "Tavrida.ART" will be available online.
