The government of the Basque Country intends to introduce the Code of Ethics for Tourism, which will become a guide to the practice of sustainable development in the tourism sector, as stated by the Minister for Tourism, Trade and Consumer Affairs of the Basque Country Government Sonia Perez Escerra during her speech at the opening of the e-Mobility Forum in Bilbao.

According to the statement, in particular, one of such practices is the desire of administrations and companies to decentralise tourist movements, as well as to develop the ecotourism.

Recently, the government introduced the “The Route of the Basque Country” - a tourism project, which aims to decentralise tourist movements and develop green tourism.

The Basque Country is located in the north on the Bay of Biscay and bordering France, this region is made up of three provinces and is very independent, with its own flag and version of the Spanish language.

One of the natural resources of the Basque Country is the vast forest land.
