The Eiffel Tower, the tourist symbol of Paris, was visited by more than 5.8 million tourists in 2022, compared with 6.2 million people in the pre-pandemic 2019, Sete, the company that provides management and maintenance of the attraction, said.

Last year, almost half of all visitors to the "iron lady" came from Europe: mainly from Italy, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Belgium and the Netherlands. Tourists from the USA accounted for about 11% of the total number of visits.

In addition to the return of foreign tourists, 2022 was marked for the Eiffel Tower by the installation of a radio antenna on its top, as a result of which the height of the structure reached 330 meters - six more than before.

A new restaurant was also opened on the tower under the leadership of star chef Thierry Marx.
