The World Youth Festival will be held from March 1-7 in the federal territory of Sirius near Sochi. It will be attended by almost 20 thousand people: Russian and foreign young leaders in the field of business, media, international cooperation, culture, science, education, volunteerism and charity, sports, as well as representatives of various children's organizations and associations.
- A municipal organizing committee has been established to prepare Sochi for a significant event. Its tasks include the preparation of urban infrastructure and the improvement of streets included in the guest route of the festival. It includes 67 streets in all areas of the resort, the press service of the city administration reports.
On the eve of the festival in Sochi, almost 25 thousand square meters of pedestrian zones were equipped, about 30 thousand square meters of squares and squares were landscaped, and opportunities for recreation with children in the Festivalny Square were expanded. There are 12 photo zones and 16 themed lighting structures installed on the streets. In addition, a suspended structure in the form of a light ceiling will be mounted on Sycamore Alley in the coming days. By March, Sochi will receive 50 new high-class buses. 150 city buses and 50 bus shelters have already been decorated with the symbols of the festival. The entrance groups and premises of the Adler airport and railway station are decorated in the same theme. Information about the upcoming event is broadcast on 55 outdoor media screens.
Over 320 pieces of park furniture and flowerpots are additionally installed in the guest areas. 178 palm trees were planted, as well as almost 600 trees and shrubs.
Surveillance cameras are additionally installed on 38 streets. A total of 3,230 cameras are connected to the Safe City complex at the resort, of which 1,310 are located on the guest route of the festival.
