The official website of the Mayor of Moscow announced the addition to the family of bush dogs in the Moscow Zoo. The male Vitsli-Putsli and the female Freya had six puppies. This is their fourth offspring.

The zoo staff tried to make sure that the birth and nursing of babies took place in an environment that was as close to natural as possible. Now the puppies are constantly next to their mother and feed on her milk. In turn, the father of the family and older puppies bring food to Freya and control the territory.

The bush dogs living in the zoo are very active. In summer they like to swim in the pond. These animals even have membranes on their paws. Older puppies play with branches, congas and other toys. This species is gregarious. Dogs constantly communicate, call to each other and do everything together.

The bush dog is listed in the International Red Book as a species close to a vulnerable position. These predators are native to the rainforests of Latin America. Today, in the habitats of bush dogs, the ecological balance is disturbed, because of which they lose their food supply. According to experts, the population of the species in nature does not exceed 18 thousand individuals.
