Residents of Russia have joined the most massive environmental campaign on the planet Earth Hour - 2021. On March 27, 2021 at 20:30 local time millions of Russians turned off not only the lights at home, but also their social networks, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.

The campaign swept across the country, from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad, through 11 time zones.

In dozens of cities across Russia, the illumination of the most famous monuments and central buildings was turned off.

In honor of the action, festive events were held throughout the country including cycling in Vladivostok, flash mob installations against environmental pollution in Khabarovsk, a night run with flashlights in Krasnoyarsk, an online acoustic concert and a candlelight quiz in Murmansk, online flash mobs for children and youth of WWF Russia, and many other events, united by the purpose of thinking about the future of our planet.

Earth Hour took place in Russia for the 13th time. Earth Hour is the most massive global event in the history of mankind - 2 billion people around the world and more than 180 countries participate in it. In Russia, the action was organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
