A unique tourist facility - winepark (wine and tourism center) - was opened on the southern coast of Crimea, near Yalta as part of the Mriya Resort & Spa project. It was built by the Italian architect Marco Casamonti, who is known all over the world for the project of the Antinori nel Chianti classico winery, made for the famous Antinori family of winemakers.
According to the head of the center, Evgenia Konstantinova, the park with an area of 30 hectares will be ready to accommodate up to 100 thousand guests a year. The sites of the wine tourism center will open in full this autumn. But even working in a pilot mode in the summer of 2021, Winepark is nevertheless ready to receive a thousand guests a month.
The park has its own vineyards and winery. The new center has a production facility with high-tech equipment, a museum and a wine bank, observation platforms, tasting rooms, a fruit park and avenues with olives, some of which are 800 or more years old and which were specially brought to Crimea from Israel. A robot sommelier is installed in the tasting room in the observation tower at a height of more than 54 meters, which will choose the type of wine the client prefers based on the answers to a short questionnaire.
The authorities of the republic expect that the new facility will attract many tourists to the region. According to the minister, about 500 thousand people took advantage of the wine and gastronomic excursions in Crimea in 2020 alone.
