Rosa Khutor to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Winter Olympics in Sochi

The Rosa Khutor Mountain Resort is the most striking example of the effective legacy of the XIII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. During the games, there was a Ski center (GLC "Rosa Khutor"), a Snowboard Park and a Freestyle Center (Extreme Park "Rosa Khutor"), as well as a Mountain Olympic Village with 2,600 seats. It was on the slopes of the resort that 30 sets of Olympic medals were awarded in 15 sports disciplines (alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle), almost a third of the total number of sets of medals (98), as well as 32 out of 76 sets of Paralympic medals. For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, all competitions in alpine skiing, freestyle skiing and snowboarding were held at the same venue.

Over the past decade, Rosa Khutor has become the largest year-round mountain resort in the country, where up to 2 million guests spend their holidays every year. As Alexander Belokobylsky, General Director of Rosa Khutor, notes: "In the post-Olympic period, we set a course for the resort to develop as an all-season resort and be interesting at any time of the year. Therefore, we have very consciously approached the issue of creating the necessary infrastructure for this. And today, in addition to our main advantage – high-quality ski holidays, we can offer hiking in the mountains, an active entertainment agenda, beaches on the Black Sea coast and in the mountains, gastronomy and a busy calendar of events. Strategically, we have chosen the right path. However, the Olympic Games, of course, gave a powerful impetus to such development, not only for our resort, but also for the whole region. We cherish their legacy and the memory of this important event."

In honor of the decade of Sochi 2014, Rosa Khutor will host a number of festive events on February 10 and 11. This Olympic weekend, children's amateur alpine skiing and snowboarding competitions for children from 5 to 14 years old for the Khutorenok Cup will be held on the Juventus highway (1100). Similar starts, but on tubing, will be held at the Rosa Beach site in Rosa Valley. Throughout the weekend, guests will enjoy active family animation (interactivity, quests, relay races, quizzes), as well as dance DJ sets, performances by artists, raffles of souvenirs.

Interesting events will also take place at the skating rink of the resort in Rosa Dolina. On February 10, Arcade Games will be organized together with Leo from the Sochi Hockey Club. A coach in a life-size doll "Leo", the mascot of HC Sochi, will hold a game master class in hockey. On February 11, Sochi 2014 Olympic figure skating champion Fedor Klimov will give his master class. You will also be able to talk with him at a meeting in the lecture hall of the Sports Marathon Mountain club (in the building of the Radisson Hotel), which will begin at 6 p.m. There will also be film screenings of films dedicated to the Olympic Games in Sochi.

On February 11, amateur alpine skiing and snowboarding competitions in slalom will also take place on the Chalet track in the Olympic Mountain Village.
