Today, the PCT includes more than three thousand representatives of the country's travel industry. Its participants are tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, spa facilities, transport, insurance, consulting, IT companies and other tourism organizations. The main objectives of the PCT are to create a civilized market in the country and increase the competitiveness of national tourism products.

The Union protects the collective interests of participants and the rights of their customers, improves the regulatory framework in this area, counteracts monopolization of the market, helps to quickly resolve conflicts, as well as create new products and promote tourist destinations.

According to Yuri Kolobov, Executive Director of «Rosa Khutor», the resort is a major market participant and the most striking example of an Olympic heritage.

«Over a decade of successful work, we have accumulated unique experience and are ready to share it. I believe that right now it is important to organize such a professional dialogue. Only by joining forces we can cope with the consequences of the global crisis. What does not kill us makes us stronger. I am sure that in the end our joint actions will give the tourism industry a new impetus for development.»

To support tourism, which has been hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic, the PCT calls on authorities to provide the industry with tax holidays, exempt them from payments to social funds until March 2021, double the amount of budgetary financing of subsidies for tour operators on domestic and inbound tourism, reduce the VAT rate for hotels to five percent in 2020 and other measures.

In a letter of the PCT President Andrei Ignatiev, sent to the Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov and the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Zarina Doguzova, it is proposed, if the epidemiological situation allows, that tourist trips should be resumed within the country from June 1, and a month later, trips between countries with a low prevalence of coronavirus can also be restored. To popularize attractions in our country, the PCT has created a network of representatives abroad in 12 countries, including the USA, Japan, China, Israel, Italy and others.
