This rare bird is one of the fastest among relatives. The species is distributed on all continents except Antarctica. The main and formidable weapon of the peregrine falcon is strong long legs with sharp claws.

Three peregrine falcons (Falco peregrinus), listed in the Red Book of Russia, were released into the natural habitat in Moscow under the control of Rosprirodnadzor employees, the agency said on its website.

The birds were bred as part of the peregrine falcon reintroduction program at the Russian Falconry Center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution VNII Ecology.

The birds were released on the territory of the All-Russian Research Institute for Environmental Protection.

The peregrine falcon is a Red Book bird of prey from the falcon family and one of the fastest among relatives. The species is distributed on all continents except Antarctica. As noted in Rosprirodnadzor, the most important and formidable weapon of the peregrine falcon is strong long legs with sharp claws. Falco peregrinus was included in the Red Book due to population decline.
