Qatar Airways is set to commence flights to Harare in Zimbabwe through Lusaka in Zambia on 6 August in a move set to boost tourism, which suffered a setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eyewitness News quoted the airline as saying that Harare and Lusaka capitals were the fifth and sixth African destinations it had added to its network since the start of the pandemic.
Qatar Airways will fly to the two countries thrice a week and the flights will be served by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Zimbabwe has so far vaccinated more than 704,000 people against COVID-19.
Both countries share Victoria Falls, although the most beautiful views are seen from the Zimbabwean side.
