A center for the restoration of biological diversity and the development of ecotourism will appear in Khakassia. The agreement was signed by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and Gunvor Infrastructure LLC within the framework of the Big Ocean international festival. The company will take part in supporting activities aimed at restoring the Przewalski’s horse population, the press service of the Khakassky reserve reports.
In particular, the investor will help to create a specialized complex for breeding these animals at one of the sites of the Khakassky Reserve. It will include a visit center and a scientific hospital. In the future, the complex will be included in the educational route with a visit to the Oglakhty site, the Ulug-Kol lake and the Salbyk burial mound. Visitors will be able to observe wild horses in their natural environment. The project will start next year.
The Przewalski's horse is one of the thirteen priority objects of the animal world of the federal project “Conservation of biological diversity and development of ecotourism”. Currently, the world population of the species is no more than 3 thousand individuals.
