Local authorities of the Primorsky Krai introduced a special regime in these protected territories of the region due to serious fire hazardous situation.
They said to EcoTourismExpert, in order to avoid forest fires, a ban on visiting tourists was introduced in the“Land of the Leopard” and “Call of the Tiger” national parks. The doors for tourists have been closed since the beginning of November as dry weather has established in the region.
Forest fires deprive rare animals of their habitats. In most cases, fires occur due to careless handling of fire or deliberate setting dry grass on fire.
Following the introduction special regime, special measures have been taken in national parks to prevent fires and the spread of fire. Thus, the so-called mineralized stripes were restored in the protected areas, many of which were damaged or destroyed by summer and autumn rains. This plowed land cut off a large area with dry grass from the borders of the national park. Such strips may delay the spread of the bush fire or serve as a baseline in the elimination of fires.
The national parks are ready to fight the fire - special vehicles, special equipment for fighting fire, and personnel are at high alert. The territory of the reserves is patrolled daily.
According to environmentalists, the fires in the territory of national parks can also be caused by uncontrolled fires coming from households and fields. The fires usually start all over every fall. It also happens in the spring. Often the situation is exacerbated by a prolonged lack of rainfall.
Firefighters and environmentalists are constantly working with residents of the region.
The neighbors of the national park are told about the danger of burning firewood, forest litter, dry grass, about the harm that fire causes to the soil. It seemed that everyone, both adults and children, knew about the danger that a flame could carry. However, fires recur year after year.
