The average cost of staying in hotels in Russia in July of this year, according to forecast estimates, will be 8-15% higher than a year ago. This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government.
"The average cost of living in a three-star hotel in July will be slightly more than 4.700 rubles, which is 8% more than a year ago. In four- to five-star hotels, the average price increase is 15%. This is taking into account the shortage of the premium segment and taking into account the fact that affluent tourists are more likely to choose holidays in Russia, respectively, there is an increased demand for four or five stars," Reshetnikov said.
He said that in March of this year, the increase in the cost of hotel rooms in four- and five-star hotels amounted to 8% compared to March last year.
The planning horizon of vacationers today is only two to three weeks. At the same time, Russians are increasingly choosing very short trips within the borders of their own or neighboring regions, the minister said.
