Twenty-two mummies - 18 kings and four queens - were ceremoniously transported to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilization from the old Egyptian National Museum, as reported by the media.
The mummies, whose age exceeds 3 thousand years, were transported in "sun chariots" - open, stylized trucks. The event was named "The Golden Parade of the Pharaohs".
In addition, a large-scale concert was organized at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization on the occasion of the "Golden Parade of the Pharaohs».
The mummy parade took place at night to avoid direct sunlight on the sarcophagi of the pharaohs.
In honor of the event, a special series of stamps was issued, dedicated to the golden parade of the pharaohs.
