Pelicans filled the reserve in the Odessa Region

Red-listed pelicans came to the Tuzlovsky Limany Natural Park (the Odessa region, Ukraine). This was announced by an employee of the national park, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Ivan Rusev.

“Above the water area and over the adjacent territories, the noise load is growing and the risks are constantly increasing. But life in nature goes on as usual. And now, finally, our “stars” - pink pelicans-   appeared in the Tuzlovsky Estuaries,” said Ivan Rusev.

The pink pelican is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, according to its conservation status. It is listed as an endangered species.

"Tuzlovsky Limany" is a national natural park located in the Odessa Region. It was created on January 1, 2010. The area covers 27,865 hectares. The total area of ​​water bodies is 206 sq. km. According to the Convention on Wetlands, the system of lakes located in the park has the status of wetlands of international importance under a special protection regime.
