Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a government meeting that the opportunity to participate in tourist programs will be expanded for owners of peasant and farm enterprises. Now they will be able to officially settle travelers in guest houses on agricultural lands, where previously it was impossible to provide temporary accommodation services.
The Head of Government noted that this issue was sensitive. It was repeatedly raised by residents of villages where Mishustin visited, as well as representatives of the tourism industry.
"Now such a restriction is lifted, the relevant bill is on our agenda today. And the owners of peasant (farm) farms will be able to work more actively in this area, inviting business and citizens to cooperate. Moreover, interest in such projects is growing in the regions," Mishustin said.
The government has been supporting entrepreneurs in rural areas for the second year by allocating grants to "Agrotourism". Last year, over 50 participants received them. 73 projects have already been selected this year. It is planned that the support of the hospitality sector in rural areas will continue. The implementation of tourism projects opens up new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as allows them to promote regional brands, for example, food.
