The observation deck at an altitude of almost 305 meters has been open since Thursday to visitors in the One Vanderbilt skyscraper, the tallest building in the central part of Manhattan.
A special feature of the observation deck, to which high-speed elevators are lifted in just 42 seconds, is that the walls, floor and ceiling of the premises with a total area of 6,000 square meters are made of transparent glass.
Visitors get the feeling that they are "floating in the air", moving along three transparent floors of the fourth-tallest skyscraper of the metropolis.
The glass "observatory", the construction of which cost 3.3 billion US dollars, offers stunning views of New York, surrounded by the East River and Hudson Rivers.
