The portal "Interfax-tourism" reported with reference to the press secretary of the institution Olga Bolshakova that the innovations are spelled out in the "Regulations on the protected zone of the Curonian Spit National Park along the border with the Baltic Sea".
"The security activities of the national park in the adjacent waters of the Baltic were delegated to us for the first time. Previously, we were practically powerless and powerless in the struggle to preserve the unique nature in the coastal waters of the sea," Bolshakova said.
Now the national park will closely monitor any activity in the protected zone of the Baltic Sea near the coast of the Curonian Spit. The total area of the protected area is 15913 hectares, and the width is from 2.5 to 4 km from the coastline. In turn, it is divided into four zones, each of which has individual restrictions or prohibitions.
The most stringent protection and prohibitions will operate in specially protected and protected areas. Any activity that disturbs wild animals is prohibited there. Softer rules will apply to the recreational zone and the economic zone.
Bolshakova noted that the national park will work to create the same protected zone in the waters of the Kursk Bay.
