August 26-27 in Apatity and Kirovsk on the initiative of scientists from the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Tourism Committee of the Murmansk Region reported this on its website.
“Currently, about 100 thousand species of mushrooms have been described, which surround us everywhere: on the ground, underground, in water and in the air. “Many fascinating facts about mushrooms were told to the festival participants by mycologists who came to Apatity from different regions of our country for a workshop on macromycetes,” the message says.
Guests of the festival saw an exhibition of mushrooms, learned the opinion of scientists on how to properly collect mushrooms and not confuse edible with inedible ones, how to conduct a scientific mushroom photo session, find out the age of the tree on which the mushroom settled, and other facts.
In addition, the festival featured a fair with mushrooms made in different techniques - carved from wood, embroidered on fabric, felted from wool.
“A quiet mushroom hunt attracts locals and tourists to the northern forest. However, you need to be extremely careful with mushrooms so as not to harm your own health and not harm the fragile northern nature. To do this, you need to be able to visit the forest, observing safety rules, and have a good understanding of mushrooms, of which there are many varieties in nature. Thanks to such events, mushroom hunting takes on a new meaning. We hope that the mushroom festival will become traditional!” - said the deputy head of the Committee for Tourism of the Murmansk Region, Irina Bulygina, whose words are quoted in the message.
You can see the plant in the Dendrarium Park. Due to the fact that its flowers change color during the day, hibiscus is called the lotus tree or "crazy rose."
