The Murmansk region is ready to receive tourists from Southeast Asia in the event of the launch of direct flights.

Rosaviation has previously offered to launch flights from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Malaysia to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude and Murmansk. The reason for this is the growing interest on the part of tourists from Asia to tours in Russia, b-port.com reports.

The Tourism Committee of the Murmansk Region noted that the delegations of the Kola Arctic Region hold presentations of our region at international exhibitions, including representatives of Southeast Asian countries, informing about its tourist attractiveness.

In total, 539.400 people visited the Murmansk Region in 2022, of which 18.400 were foreign tourists. At the same time, the average annual load of collective accommodation (hotels, hotels, hostels, camp sites, etc.) is 75%, which allows you to receive even more tourists. To develop the number of rooms, taking into account the increasing tourist flow, representatives of the tourism industry of the Murmansk region are supported within the framework of the national project "Tourism and the hospitality industry".

In order to increase the tourist flow, the interest of carriers in flights from Southeast Asian countries to Murmansk is necessary, the committee said.

At the same time, the region remains one of the most popular outbound tourism routes among residents of the Murmansk region.
