Moscow will hold the Moscow Travel Hack, the first hackathon on the digitalization of the tourism sector, from February 8 to 9, 2020. The event will be held in the technopolis “Moscow”, according to the official website of the Mayor of Moscow.
The submission of applications has already been opened and will last until February 28.
Hackathon is a competition where within a limited amount of time development teams try to find the optimal solution to the problem.
As a rule, participants create a prototype of an IT product (mobile applications, websites, bots).
Worldwide companies are increasingly resorting to such an instrument as a hackathon as it helps can find new ideas and ways to develop certain business areas.
Companies with ready-made projects in specified areas will also be able to offer their solutions to partners and separately present them at the hackathon site, but without competition for the prize pool.
In addition, all participants will be able to attend educational program events. The director of marketing services company Yandex, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, Andrei Sebrant, will be one of the speakers.
Evgeny Lisovsky, head of the cartographic service for travelers Maps.me (holding Mail.Ru Group), will also share his knowledge and experience.
The competition is organized by the capital Tourism Committee in conjunction with 10 Russian and international partners. Among them - Facebook, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts named, Discover.Moscow portal, Aeroexpress and others. According to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina, the city authorities hope that with the help of this event in the tourism sector, the authorities will be able to improve the digital infrastructure for tourists and find new breakthrough solutions for the entire industry.
Both teams and individual specialists are invited to participate.
