Moscow hotels were more than 80 percent full in the first half of June

The occupancy of the capital's hotels in the first days of summer, from June 1 to June 12, amounted to 82.3 percent, which is 12.5 percent more than in the same period last year, the portal of the mayor and government of Moscow reported, citing Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina. According to her, compared with the May holidays, the hotel occupancy rate increased by 17 percent.

“Most of the guests were received by Moscow hotels on Children's Day and June 6–8. Download these days exceeded 83 and 92 percent, respectively. The most popular categories of hotels are three and four stars, ”the portal quotes Sergunin.

As noted in the message, 1.9 thousand hotels operate in the capital. In summer, many travelers traditionally come to Moscow, who are attracted by the cultural and business life of the metropolis, various events and gastronomic diversity.

“Many Russians bring their children to Moscow during the holidays. Tourists most often choose hiking and cycling routes through the historic city center, embankments, as well as walks along the river. Hundreds of events are organized in the parks. These include lectures, open-air film screenings, concerts and performances, sports competitions and open training. Hundreds of excursions take place on the streets every day,” the City Hall noted.
