"Judging by the booking dynamics that we are now seeing, in just five warm months, from May to September, at least 31 million people will have spend holidays in the country, which is approximately 20% more than last year," Zarina Doguzova, Head of Rostourism, said at a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation and members of the government.

According to her, the season is already in full swing throughout the country - traditionally it starts with the May holidays. In May-June, a little more than 12 million people have already had holidays inside the country, which is 10% more than in the same period last year.

The most popular destinations among Russians are the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Moscow, the Moscow Region and St. Petersburg, the Head of Rostourism said.

According to Doguzova, the geography of travel over the past couple of years has greatly expanded - regions along the Volga, the Caucasus, the Baltic, the south of the Urals, Siberia, Altai, the Far East and many others have become very popular.

At the same time, seaside holidays are still most in demand in summer.
