In August, the capacity of the checkpoint "Adler" was exceeded by more than seven times. This is reported at the Krasnodar customs.
- On weekends, the load on the multilateral automobile checkpoint increases. More than 11,000 vehicles and about 70,000 people cross the border in both directions. In 2022, at the peak of the summer season, 66,000 people crossed the Russian-Abkhazian border per day - these are the maximum figures, the customs officials note.
The customs works round the clock, the staff of personnel is expanded. To increase the throughput capacity, the reconstruction of the Adler checkpoint is planned. Since May 2023, about 5 million people and more than 800,000 vehicles, including 30,000 tour buses, have crossed the border between Russia and Abkhazia.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
