The company "Kavkaz.The Russian Federation has signed an agreement with a contractor on the creation of an artificial snowmaking system at the Mamison resort in North Ossetia. The work is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2024. This is reported on the company's website.
"Over the next year, the contractor will install 77 snow cannons on the slopes of the future resort. They will be located at an altitude of 2025 to 2,913 meters above sea level and will allow snow to cover about 50% of the total length of the trails," the report says.
The contract amount was 1.8 billion rubles.
In parallel, the creation of a ski area will continue at the resort. It is planned to lay new trails of all levels of complexity – from interesting and difficult sections for experienced skiers to easy and comfortable for beginners.
"The other day we signed an agreement with another company that will help us build two trails at the resort with a length of about five km. We plan to put the facilities into operation also at the end of 2024. Just a new snowmaking system will be located on these sites and will allow us to start the ski season earlier in the future, and to conduct it more efficiently, creating comfortable conditions for tourists riding," the words of the executive director of Kavkaz are quoted in the message.RF" by Hassan Timizhev.
In addition, the construction of two cable cars continues at Mamison, ski slopes with a length of 20 km are being profiled. The resort will have a multifunctional center, parking for 420 places, a garage for storage and maintenance of snow-compacting equipment.
Mamison is a resort under construction in the Alagirsky district of North Ossetia under the management of Kavkaz.RF. A special economic zone operates on its territory. Construction work at the resort began in 2022, the first facilities are planned to be commissioned in 2024-2025.
