Lonely Planet Unveils Top 30 Destinations for 2025

Lonely Planet, one of the most trusted travel guidebook publishers, has released its annual list of the best places to visit in 2025. The list features 30 destinations that offer unique experiences and unforgettable memories. The rankings were determined based on expert opinions, author recommendations, and traveler reviews.

Cameroon, celebrating its 65th anniversary of independence next year, has been crowned the top country to visit. Tourists are encouraged to explore the "Cameroonian Riviera" with its Kribi beach, immerse themselves in authentic music, and discover the architecture of the capital, Yaoundé.

Other countries making the list include Lithuania, Fiji, Laos, Kazakhstan, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Vanuatu, Slovakia, and Armenia. Additionally, ten regions have been highlighted as must-visit destinations: the Lowcountry in South Carolina (USA), the Terai region at the southern foot of the Himalayas, the Chiriquí Province in Panama, Launceston in Australia, the canton of Valais in Switzerland, Ordu and Giresun in Turkey, Bavaria in Germany, East Anglia, the Jordan Trail in Jordan, and Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge near Portland in the USA.

Experts also recommend visiting 10 cities: Toulouse in France, Pondicherry in India, Bansko in Bulgaria, Chiang Mai in Thailand, Genoa in northern Italy, Pittsburgh in the US state of Pennsylvania, Osaka in Japan, Curitiba in Brazil, Palma de Mallorca, and Edmonton in Canada.

Lonely Planet was founded in 1973. The company publishes travel guides in various languages worldwide and is popular among travelers from all over the globe.
