The Lapland Nature Reserve in the Murmansk Region invites to the Mid-Winter festival of Nordic Walking. According to the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, it will be held on December 14 at the Chunozersky estate.
The participants of the age from 20 to 70 are admitted. Athletes participating in the Eurasian Marathon Cup in Nordic Walking, the Celebration of the North, and other major Nordic walking competitions in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Finland and Greece will compete for the main prize.
Chunozersky estate, located in the Lapland reserve, is called a place of power. Here, in the forests, there is the Mountain of Life, the Lake of Life, the stream of Life, which are surrounded by coniferous forest. You can explore all these places with such mysterious names thanks to the winter trails accompanied by trained employees of the reserve. Snowshoes will allow travelers to conquer the protected mountain El Nyun and visit the sacred Seyd. According to the legend, it makes the dreams of a person who touched it come true.
Here you can also visit the estate of Santa Claus, the path which lies through the magical forest to the Elyavruai stream. You should whisper your desires in a mitten. They say they also come true.
