On June 1, the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park reopened to visitors after a “month of silence”. This year it was introduced in the protected area for the fourth time and lasted from May 12 to May 31. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia on its website.

“Limiting visits to the territory of the national park helps in the prevention of forest fires and in the favorable “awakening” of the animal world,” the department noted.

During this time, researchers and state inspectors have repeatedly recorded deer and roe deer entering the recreational area, ungulates felt calm on the Laltinsky road leading to the Central Pillars. There were also traces of bears. A visual meeting with a she-bear and her cub took place at one of the cordons in the closed area of Stolbov.

Currently, the growing season is actively going on in the national park, which reduces the risk of forest fires.

“We note the departure of wild animals from the territory of the recreational zone deep into the national park, which is confirmed by the materials from photo recorders. During the period of the ban, the inspectors have prepared the territory and recreation areas for the tourist season, laid mineralized strips and fire breaks, and cleaned the territory,” said Ivan Kirillov, deputy director of the national park, whose words are quoted in the message.

The zone of special protection (the so-called "Wild Pillars") remains closed to the public, the issuance of permits for this territory is not carried out beforehand until August. According to experts, due to the complete absence of people, ungulates were able to calmly raise newborns, and birds - to start breeding chicks.

“The great tit and Muscovite, delighting us with their presence all year round, and the common redstarts arriving early enough have already chosen secluded places and started laying. Soon these birds will have their personal "month of silence", when the birds sit tightly on the eggs and rarely leave the nest. Pied flycatchers, arriving a little later, are only looking at cozy apartments, including those that are already occupied by someone, ”Nadezhda Goncharova, an employee of the park, is quoted by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Experts emphasize that it is important to follow the visiting rules in the territory of the protected area all year round: do not turn on loud music, do not leave the paths, do not stop to rest where the birds are restless. This means they have a nest nearby.
