As Olga Vasilenko, head of the tourism agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, said at the EcoSummit: Siberian Perspective, about 898 thousand tourists visited the region in 2021. The increase compared to 2020 was 67 percent.

Speaking at the environmental summit, which was held in early October with the support of Norilsk Nickel in the Bobrovy Log fan park (Krasnoyarsk), she said that the volume of paid services in the tourism sector of the region amounted to 5.9 billion rubles.

Speaking about the main indicators of the tourism industry in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vasilenko added that there are 52 tour operators, 208 classified hotels, 1.5 thousand catering facilities and 686 travel companies.

According to the concept of tourism development in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vasilenko singled out the Sayano-Shushinsky Reserve, the Shushinsky Bor National Park, and the Ergaki Nature Park among the priority areas. It is this area that attracts more and more tourists, she said. If in 2019 it was visited by 89 thousand people, then in 2021 this figure was already 140 thousand. Vasilenko said that the ecotrail network was expanded here and navigation was improved.

According to the head of the tourism agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than 1 million people visited the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, the Torgashinsky Range received more than 400 thousand tourists, more than 1171 people went to the Putorana Plateau, and the Gremyachaya Griva eco-park was visited more than 200 thousand people.

Speaking about the development of ecological tourism, Vasilenko said that the plans include the creation of protected areas on the territory of the Gremyachaya Griva ecopark and the Torgashinsky Ridge natural monument.

In particular, the concept of the Gremyachaya Griva ecopark involves the construction of 62 km of hiking trails, 3 viewing platforms, and a bicycle route. It will equip 5 sports grounds, 2 visitor centers, a yoga pavilion, a museum of stones, as well as create lighting and video surveillance. In the ecopark, they even intend to arrange pump rooms with spring water and a room for mother and child. And in the visit center it is planned to make lockers and an information center.

During the improvement of the Torgashinsky Ridge, in February 2022, the longest staircase in Russia was already created, with 1683 steps. This was recorded in the Russian Book of Records, Vasilenko said.

She added that within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry" it is planned to create a national tourist route "Siberian Holidays", which will connect the South of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva and stretch from Abakan to Kyzyl.

Speaking at the eco-summit, Vasilenko stressed that special attention in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is paid to the issues of sustainable development of tourism. In particular, when working with the infrastructure, the comfort and safety of tourists are taken into account; when managing tourist flows, the region does not forget about minimizing the human impact on nature. Special attention is paid to the environmental thinking, including environmental education, and the formation of a social climate with the participation of socially-oriented business.

Among the tasks for the development of ecological tourism, which the Krasnoyarsk Territory sets itself, Vasilenko mentioned the issues of improving tourism management models in protected areas and work with federal legislation in terms of providing land for tourism infrastructure facilities.
