Israel has launched a trial phase of boosting inbound tourism, the first 20 tourist groups will be able to enter the country by June 15.
“As part of a pilot project, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism has published an appeal for tour operators to apply for entry by one group at a time. Within 9 minutes after the registration was opened, the allocated quota was filled. As of today, registered tour operators will be able to bring to Israel one group of 5 to 30 foreign tourists,” the press release of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism said.
So far, only tourists from countries whose epidemiological situation meets the requirements of the country's Ministry of Health are allowed into the country. The travelers need to have a certificate of vaccination with a vaccine approved by the Israeli Ministry of Health (Sputnik V is not yet included in the list) and do two PCR tests, one 72 hours before entry, and the second upon arrival, as well as take a serological test for antibodies upon arrival.
