India's Kuno National Park welcomes 12 South African cheetahs

Twelve cheetahs have been brought from South Africa, five months after the first batch of eight spotted felines from Namibia were released at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. An IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying 12 cheetahs landed in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh State.  
 
Months after eight big cats were ferried from Namibia, India again welcomed 12 more cheetahs from South Africa on Saturday. The second batch of cheetahs landed at the air force station in Gwalior and was taken to Kuno National Park.
 
An #IAF C-17 aircraft carrying the second batch of 12 Cheetahs landed at AF Station Gwalior on 18 Feb 2023, after a 10-hour flight from Johannesburg, South Africa. These Cheetahs were airlifted in IAF helicopters and released in the Kuno National Park.
