On the night of February 4, a downpour hit the city. As a result, on the Dagomys-Loo railway section, passengers traveling to Sochi were transferred to buses.
- We promptly dispatched 22 buses to Loo and Dagomys stations so that passengers could get to the city center, as well as to Sochi and Adler train stations, and to the airport. 1,800 people were transported overnight, and vehicles continue to run, - said the head of Sochi Alexey Kopaigorodsky.
More than a hundred railway workers and special equipment are involved in the work. Russian Railways has set up an operational headquarters to coordinate restoration work. It is noted that the work is complicated because the waterlogged soil is not stabilized, and mudflows continue to descend. Due to the movement of soil and damage to the road, it was difficult to get to private houses in the village of Volkovka. In Lazarevsky district, due to the rise in the water level in the river, five people from a private house on Dneprovskaya Street were relocated to temporary accommodation facilities. In the mountain cluster and on high sections, roads are cleared of snow. 17 pieces of equipment and about 30 people are involved in the work. All operational services have switched to enhanced mode. An emergency warning is in effect in Sochi until the end of February 6.
