The press service of the Valdai National Park announced the early opening of the Great Valdai Trail in connection with numerous requests from those wishing to visit this tourist route.
The report notes that flooded and snow-covered sections could remain on the trail. In addition, due to the difficult access of equipment, there may be a lack of firewood in remote sections of the tourist route.
There are several hiking trails in the national park. For example, the forest ring route "Forest Secrets" will introduce travelers to typical taiga forests on a hilly terrain, as well as streams and a variety of swamps. Its length is about 1.8 km. This route is open to tourists from May to October.
Another eco-trail "Ivani Pereleski" is located 7 km from Valdai. Its main theme is the wildlife of the park. On one route such natural communities as coniferous-deciduous forest and lake are concentrated. This two-kilometer trail is also open from May to October.
In addition, guests of the park can visit the visitor center, where they learn about the features of various ecosystems. Tourists also have access to the interactive exposition "Journey from Seliger to Borovno". It will allow not only to see the exhibits, but also to touch them, smell them, hear the sounds of nature, visit different time periods and imagine yourself as archaeologists.
