Now you can discover Ingushetia in the mountains of Sochi. A special exhibition dedicated to the Caucasian republic opened at the Rosa Khutor resort. It is located in the interactive ethnographic park "My Russia", in the pavilion "Caucasus". The organizer was the Ingush Museum of Local Lore named after Tugan Malsagov.

“The exposition about Ingushetia in the My Russia complex will be permanent, this is the first step towards the formation of the Museum of the Peoples of Russia in this unique place. We worked long enough and carefully on the formation of the exposition, specially for it we collected exhibits that are not in the funds. At the exhibition, you can learn about the history of our people, about life, culture and ethnography,” says the head of the Ingush Museum of Local History Magomet Sagov.

The central place in the exposition is occupied by exhibits dedicated to the unique tower complexes of Ingushetia. Some of them are over 2000 years old, according to scientists, they are older than the Egyptian pyramids. Until now, researchers are struggling with the question: how did ancient people manage to build stone towers more than 40 meters high on the slopes of five-thousand-meter mountains without technology?

“The tower complexes of Ingushetia are unique structures. They were used not only for military purposes, but also for life. They were built from stones that were mined in the mountains - basalt, granite, marble. There used to be an unusual tradition in our area. Coming to the wedding, and they were numerous, the guests gave the young people not gifts, but stones already prepared to create a tower. By the way, the names of the towers gave names to 100 clans of Ingushetia, of which 800 surnames of the republic appeared,” explains Mohammed Sagov.
