The results of the winter accounting of the Amur tiger and other animals, which was conducted in February on the territory of the Lazovsky Reserve and the Call of the Tiger National Park (Primorsky Krai), have been summarized.

"According to the results of monitoring in 2024, 11 adult tiger specimens were recorded on the territory of the Lazovsky Reserve following footprints in the snow. Of these, there are three males, seven females and one individual of indeterminate gender and age," the reserve said on its website.

At the same time, two females have four tiger cubs.

According to Vladimir Aramilev, head of the Joint Directorate of the Lazovsky Reserve and the Call of the Tiger National Park, the Amur tiger population in the reserve has been fairly stable for the last ten years. Every year, employees record 10-12 tigers and three to five cubs. With an area of 120 thousand hectares of the reserve, 10-12 thousand hectares are accounted for for each adult tiger, and in terms of all tigers - 7-9 thousand hectares.

"The density of tigers in the Lazovsky Reserve is very high. According to this indicator, we are no longer so far from India, where tiger habitats are represented by highly productive savannas, and we have mountain deciduous forests," Aramilev's words are quoted in the message.

The spotted deer is the background species of ungulates on the territory of the Lazovsky Reserve, however, the results of winter route accounting showed that the number of wild boars began to recover. In addition, the staff of the reserve noted that there are also more raisins here.
