The press service of the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park announced the start of the qualifying round for the "EcoGeneration" project. Schoolchildren of grades 8-11 living in the cities where RUSAL enterprises operate: Irkutsk, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Murmansk regions, Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republic of Khakassia, Komi and Volgograd will be able to take part in the eco-industrial expedition.
"This year, RUSAL plans to hold eco-industrial expeditions jointly with two specially protected natural territories - the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park (Krasnoyarsk Krai) and the Kandalaksha State Natural Reserve (Murmansk Oblast)," - the message says.
Schoolchildren who are passionate about ecology, biology and local history are invited to take part in the competitive selection. They will need to study video lectures of the protected areas, learn about the history and scientific research that is being conducted to save endangered and endangered species of flora and fauna. After that, the contestants will be able to answer the quiz questions. Some of them concern the aluminum industry. The participants of the selection must also send a short essay in which they will tell why they want to take part in the expedition.
The selection will last until May 9th. Volunteers, classes with scientists, excursions to unique natural corners await the winners.
The Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, located in Krasnoyarsk, is one of the specially protected natural territories that play a key role in absorbing carbon dioxide. On its territory is the Bobrovy Log fan park - a world-class all-season sports and recreation park, which is part of the Norilsk Nickel Group of Companies. Since 2018, the fan park has been implementing a partnership program with the Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park in various areas.
