The construction of a modern eco-center building in the Yauza park is coming to an end, the mayor's office reported recently. This innovative facility will appear in the floodplain of the Chermyanka River; its construction is being carried out on a once abandoned territory, which, at the request of local residents, they decided to improve.
The center is going to popularize the ecological professions of the future. The space will be divided into five zones, where visitors can try their hand at being an eco-urbanist, eco-designer, eco-nutritionist, environmental logist and others.
“The equipment of the center is designed for guests of different ages. You can visit it on your own, with an audio guide or as part of a group with a guide. The territory adjacent to the eco-center will be landscaped. The plans include the creation of a vertical farm, a pharmaceutical garden and a sensory garden,” said Deputy Mayor in the Moscow Government Pyotr Biryukov, quoted on the mos.ru website.
The Ecocenter will be located on an area of over 1.2 thousand square meters, it will open interactive exhibition halls with multimedia equipment, a cinema hall for popular science shows and a professional laboratory.
“In the construction and decoration of the pavilion, we make the most of natural materials, mainly wood. Facade stained-glass glazing is provided in the cafe area in order to maximize the use of natural light,” said Biryukov.
