Dog on the Giza Pyramid Causes Social Media Frenzy

A dog casually strolling atop the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt has sparked a viral sensation on social media.

Captured on camera by a passing paraglider, the canine’s leisurely ascent to the nearly 139-meter-high pyramid, equivalent to a 45-story building, has left the internet baffled. How could a dog possibly have climbed such a structure?

While the world pondered this mystery, the dog calmly made its way down the massive stone blocks that make up this ancient wonder.

Few people know that until the mid-1980s, anyone could climb the pyramids. Historical photographs even show people relaxing and even having tea parties on their summits.

However, after Egypt tightened laws in 1987 to protect its historical heritage, access to the top of the Giza pyramids was restricted. As one of the last remaining ancient wonders, and with the mystery of its construction still unsolved, the pyramid was slowly deteriorating from the constant foot traffic. Today, the pyramids are guarded to prevent any further climbing attempts. Despite these measures, there are still daring individuals who try to scale the pyramids under the cover of darkness, but this is now a criminal offense.

As for the dog, like many of the stray dogs that roam Egypt, it seems the law doesn't apply. They go wherever they please, including the pyramids.
