The international festival "Gastrocamp Yaroslavl - 2024" kicks off on November 18th. An international team of chefs will develop original dishes for the "Yaroslavl Menu" based on local products. This was reported on its website by the Ministry of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region.
"All recipes for dishes and drinks developed during the project will be transferred for use in catering establishments in the Yaroslavl Region," the message says.
According to the region's tourism minister, Olga Gabueva, gastronomic tourism is becoming increasingly popular, and "Gastrocamp" will give an additional impetus to increasing the flow of guests to the region.
"Our region is famous for its producers of high-quality food and beverages, and the restaurant culture and service here are at a high level," the minister's words are quoted in the message.
The festival is attended by experienced chefs, confectioners, mixologists, and marketers with international experience from the Yaroslavl Region, Bashkortostan, Ivanovo, Moscow, and the Kamchatka Territory. One of the best chefs from Colombia is also expected.
In addition to developing original recipes using local products for the "Yaroslavl Menu", the festival program includes visits to a number of food enterprises, as well as a poultry farm, a fish farm, and others.
"Master classes are planned, which the project team members will conduct in Yaroslavl and Uglich, as well as consultations for local food and beverage producers. In the capital of the Golden Ring, chefs will demonstrate their culinary art to students at the College of the Food Industry. At Yaroslavl State University named after P.G. Demidov, the masters will give a lecture and also organize master classes for those who wish to prepare original dishes," the ministry said.
The international project "Gastrocamp" has been held in Russia nine times since its launch in 2021, with over 150 chefs from eight countries taking part in the events.
