Darwin Sanctuary invites volunteers to ring migratory birds that arrived for the summer season, as well as permanent residents.
Birds are caught and ringed, thus, you can easily track the birds using optical instruments. The information obtained is needed to analyze the routes and timing of migration, changes in numbers, life expectancy, and causes of death.
“We constantly need volunteers, and rather even volunteer teams that can perform complex tasks,” said Maria Zubova, head of the department of environmental education at the Darwin State Nature Biosphere Reserve. Now, in addition to the ringing of birds, the reserve needs help in the construction of eco-trails. The project, carried out with the financial support of the Severstal project, is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
