Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, at a meeting of the President of Russia with members of the government, announced her readiness to introduce an electronic visa from August 1. A document allowing foreigners to stay in Russia for up to 16 days will be available to citizens of 55 states.
“We propose to keep the list that was previously defined, 52 countries, add three more countries to it - Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar, and launch electronic visas from August 1, 2023,” Golikova said in a message on the website of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.
For example, citizens of Europe, Japan, Turkey, China, North Korea, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Singapore can apply for an electronic visa (EEA). Processing time - up to six calendar days from the date of application.
“UEU is a one-time entry, its validity period is 60 days from the date of registration,” the ministry noted.
The visa will be issued for tourist trips, guest or business visits, participation in scientific, cultural, sports or other events. The document is issued by a diplomatic mission or consular office of the Russian Federation, for this a foreigner must submit an application on a special website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development, by the end of the current year, the inbound tourist flow to Russia may grow to 10 million people, including due to the launch of an electronic visa and agreements on visa-free group travel with China and Iran.
