“About a third of them are small groups that will get acquainted with the national park as part of the Journey to Beringia program. This is a week-long tour developed by the park staff, which allows you to immerse yourself in the nature and culture of Chukotka and, accompanied by experienced guides, see all the main sights of the Providensky section of the national park,” the Ministry of Natural Resources reports on its website.
The tour includes boat trips along the Senyavin Strait, whale watching and viewing bird colonies, visiting the Whale Alley, the ancient Eskimo settlement Avan and the Guigungu fortress, trekking through the tundra and hills, swimming in thermal springs, excursions to Novy Chaplino, the largest modern Eskimo village in Russia.
