On February 17, a festival dedicated to the Chinese New Year will be held in the new public space of St. Petersburg VOKZAL 1853, the largest food mall in Europe.
"Red lanterns, garlands, artists in national costumes and a colorful photo zone - the guests will enjoy the incredible atmosphere of the main oriental holiday and many free events from the residents of VOKZAL 1853," says a message on the foodmall website.
The program of the festival includes a demonstration master class with tasting of dim sum with different fillings. The chef will tell the guests about the traditions and culture of Chinese street food in a modern European interpretation and about its main dishes - noodles, Peking duck, Kung Pao chicken, crispy eggplant and broken cucumbers.
In addition, visitors will enjoy a master class by Jianghong Gu, the only caramel sculpture master in St. Petersburg, a performance by a dance group, lectures on Chinese proverbs and traditions of celebrating the New Year, tea tastings, free coinage.
Guests will be able to participate in master classes in painting, calligraphy, fan dancing and the game of Go.
A separate point of the program is the passage of the Dragon.
VOKZAL 1853 is the largest food mall in Russia and Europe, which opened in 2022 in the building of the Warsaw Railway Station, which existed from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. The building was reconstructed and stylized as the imperial trains of the 19th century. Today it is one of the leading event venues in St. Petersburg.
