The Caucasus Nature Reserve, despite the fact that all tourist routes are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, gets ready for the tourists. The preparation work is carried out by state inspectors and the reserve’s operational group. The first stage of preparation for the summer season should be completed before May 1.

Clearing and equipping of the routes is carried out in several stages. First, the infrastructure and territory located at an altitude of up to one thousand meters are inspected and put in order, in the second stage - up to 1.8 thousand meters. At an altitude of two thousand meters and above, the preparation work is carried out in June, when the snow melts. The head of the Caucasian reserve Sergey Shevelev emphasized that the preparation of recreational facilities has almost been completed with an inventory carried out on the Laura cordon and in the animal territory, animal shelters were renewed. In Southern cultures, preparation for the season has been completed: the main entrance has been repaired, the entrance from the Imereti Lowland is being finalized so that to provide tourists with a more convenient entrance to the park.

Yew-boxwood grove is ready to welcome its guests. At the Laura and Psluh cordons the work has already been completed as well, the authorities began clearing of trails in the area of the Engelman glades. State inspectors expect to start preparing the most popular - the 30th route - in a week.
