Two cubs, born to a leopardess Cherry at the Leopard Restoration Center in the Caucasus, were named Khosta and Laura, as reported on the official website of WWF Russia.
The cubs were named after the rivers of the Sochi National Park and the Caucasian Nature Reserve.
It is under these names that the leopards will be recorded in the international herd book of the Central Asian leopard and it is with them that they will remain forever, regardless of their place of residence.
Now the weight of each cub is about 6 kg.
The first vaccination of the cubs took place on December 1, 2020, now it is possible to carry out the second vaccination.
The staff of the center monitors the natural reactions of the females so that by the time of release, these animals are ready to live in the wild, hunt and avoid humans and livestock.
