The authorities of Martinique, an overseas department of France in the Caribbean Sea, allowed visiting the beaches.

This decision is the first step towards easing quarantine measures due to the coronavirus pandemic, introduced since August 9.

In addition to the opening of beaches, walking is allowed within a radius of 10 km, and not one kilometer from the place of residence, as it was until now. It is also allowed to sail on private vessels, but the number of passengers should not exceed six people.

In addition, trade in non-food stores is resumed in compliance with the mask regime and social distance.

Access to restaurants and gyms is also allowed, but a sanitary pass is required.
At the same time, the curfew in Martinique is not canceled: being on the street is prohibited from 19 pm to 5 am.
