Bali has finally reopened its borders for foreign travellers from all countries. Bali has also resumed direct international flights for the first time in two years as Indonesia opens the resort island to foreign travellers. However, quarantine is mandatory for all visitors.

Singapore Airlines will soon launch a regular direct route to and from Denpasar in Bali. However, even fully vaccinated travellers will have to quarantine for five days at places certified by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Those who have received only one dose of the vaccine, they’ll have to quarantine for seven days. The quarantine measure is being taken to cap the spread of the virus. Before the pandemic, the airport was handling some 200 international flights with at least one million passengers on a daily basis. But after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, the island was shut down to international flights completely.

Tourism being the prime source of income in Bali, the reopening of the island comes as good news as it will help boost the island's economy, which was negatively affected by the pandemic. Sandiaga Uno, Tourism and Economy Minister, said that the reopening will also serve as a trial to host G-20 events in Bali later this year.
